My customer is looking for a new home for this painting. They purchased it earlier this year, but due to unexpected life changes the painting now could move into a new home. If you’d be interested in this piece, contact me (Kaisa) and I’ll connect you with the customer.

The painting got a small new addition after the first pictures were taken: a bit of happy yellow was added to the upper right corner (see pictures). I’m keeping the original pics here too as they showcase the pink shades most accurately. <3

the child is still
very much alive within me:

the child who’d climb the highest tree
to see how far she could see;

in her head, a tilted crown
knees full of scratches
from treasures found

the girl who would run to
catch the wind
reach to the heavens
cloud castles in her mind

the child who’d
pick the brightest stars
and crown herself with their shine…

and I never, never wish to forget
how far I saw
when the world
still was mine.

This painting found its form as a rather surprisingly spontaneous burst a few weeks ago, in the middle of the darkest time of the year. I've loved being close to its intense pinks; they feel like an antidote to the darkness, like something that is as bright and alive as possible.

This painting, to me, feels like wildness and freedom; something that used to accompany me especially as a child. To me, it feels like the celebration of childhood, the child's heart, courage and joy; I remember the girl who climbed the highest tree to conquer the world - and I wish to keep her alive in me, at all costs.

The intense magentas and pinks in this painting seem to be a bit of a problem to the camera and the computer. :D Their shades are a bit softer in real life, more dreamy. I’ve also added some intricate, delicate faux silver leaf details here and there, and they will show best in real life too.

I would recommend installing this painting a spot light with a somewhat cool light - it will make the silver glow, and bring out the most beautiful shades of the pinks. Very warm indoor light often “bends” the colours a bit too much.
